Seminar 的意義

It should not be just everyone's physical existence.

We have seminar cause one can read papers and share the ideas in them.

But I found we didn't get quite much inspiration out of  every presenter's hardwork.

And I think the mismatch of our problem and the ideas in the papers is the culprit.

The shared pdf and ppt on the website are rarely used.

They are stagnant.

It's a waste of everyone's effort.

Another observation is:

The best papers I often found have one thing in common.

THEY ARE BORROWING IDEAS FROM OTHER FIELD

If we are always reading papers in our own field, then we can keep admiring others having their fantastic mixture.

If we want to have our own mixture, we need to have a broad search of  other fields, which is not possible if we(very limited number of people) have to read papers and make ppts for a long time.

SO,

I'm suggesting a platform that more people can extract ideas and tag the papers that we can possibly exploit from time to time.

For example:

sigcomm

SybilGuard: Defending Against Sybil Attacks via Social Networks

Currently many human-interactable websites has added some protections (such as puzzles) to prevent the system from attackers' brute-force trying.

The idea is based on the gap between human intelligence and the current recognition technology.

However, the protection is broken by the idea of web2.0
